    • Food production grew arithmetically (adding one at each stage)
    • population would outgrow food supply, then decrease due to starvation.
    • Natural checks were used to reduce population. They were split into two catorgries.
      • Positive checks reduce population E.G. famine or deaths
      • Negative checks limit population growth E.G. postponing marrage
