- The Rate of Photo Synthesis
- Limiting Factors
- night = light is the limiting factor
- winter = temperature is the limiting factor
- bright and warm = CO2 is the limiting factor
- Graphs
- not enough light slows down photo synthesis
- too little carbon dioxide also slows it down
- temperature has to be just right, too cold will slow down the enzymes in the reaction and too high will damage the enzymes and cause them to denature
- Artificially Creating The Right Factors
- most common way to create these ideal factos is using a greenhuose
- greenhouses help trap the sun's light and ensures the temperature doesn't become limiting
- winter = farmers may also use heaters to keep the temperature right
- summer = farmers may use ventilation and shades to cool things down
- supply artificial light to speed up the reaction once the Sun goes down
- paraffin heaters are sometimes used which as it burns, creates carbon dioxide was a by-product
- More On Artificial Factors
- keeping plants in a greenhouse prevents them from being damaged by pests and diseases
- farmers use fertilisers to give the soil the minerals needed
- overproduction of the factors needed can cause the farmer t lose profit, however if used properly the rate will increase and the plnts cn then be sold qucker
