  • The PHYSIOLOGICAL Approach
    • Assumptions:
      • Our behaviour and experience is determined by our biology.
      • Our behaviour is largely controlled by the brain or the nervous system.
    • Strengths:
      • Supports nature side of nature-nurture debate.
      • Very scientific, reliable, easy to analyse.
    • Weaknesses:
      • Reductionist - ignores other factors e.g. social and cognitive.
      • Over simplistic - simplifies complex human behaviour and ignores influence of the environment.
    • A2 studies:
      • Geer and Maisel, Gottesman and Shields, Johansson and Brunner.
