    • Aims of punishment
      • retribution= making the Criminal pay for what they have done

    • Treatment of criminals
      • prison
        • Christians support prison reform that has tried to improve conditions inside prisons and give prisoners better opportunities to gain education and qualifications

      • community service
        • For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him

    • Forgiveness
      • “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

    • The death penalty= capital punishment: punishment in which a criminal is put to death

        • They believe that only Allah has the right to take life, and therefore carrying out the death penalty is 'playing God' and committing the sin of shirk.
