      • Islam: involved in politics in the UK and the number of MP's has risen, also a specific Islamic political party, Islamic parties rules in places like Iran
      • Buddhism: Very Involved in politics. in 1 Buddhist scriptire it gives 10 rules for a good government, monks are encouraged to not be involved in politics
      • Advantages
        • good to have honest people in government, influence others on moral issues, protect religious freedom
      • Disadvantages
        • Politics a struggle for power and religion is spiritual, other faiths not happy with decisions, faith and political views may be opposing
      • Some Christinas belive they don't mix but lots of christains involved in politics, lots of chritisan groups that encourage chrisrains to get involved in political parties

      • State religion: Official religion of your country Iran= Islam
      • Freedom of choice: The idea that you chose what you wish
      • Blasphemy laws: Laws that prevent talk or behaviour that insult God or Gods
    • Multiculturalism
      • Advantages
        • makes life more interesting, variety in cuisine, more music, better NHS
      • Disadvantages
        • prejudice between different groups, isolation of 1 group, communication issues in schools
    • Immigration
      • Why come to UK?
        • Economic reasons, job opportunities, tolerance respect and freedom, to escape war
      • Why does the UK need immigrants?
        • Essential skills, contribution to the economy, motivation (willing to do jobs some brits are unwilling to do as they're demeaning i.e. cleaning)
      • problems?
        • loss of jobs, prejudiced about other cultures, public services under pressure
    • Faith communities
      • Hope 2008 (Christian)
        • Encourage all Christians denominations to work together to serve the community. In Devon they cleaned street signs collected litter etc.
      • Religions for peace
        • Met in Japan, 1 hundred religious leaders from over a hundred different religions to act on climate change and violent conlict worked recently to help reconciliation in Iraq and African kids with AIDS
    • Asylum
      • C= "love thy neighbour"
      • H= "Do not do to others what would cause pain if done to you"
