            • Other policies he brought in within Ireland and the funding of Catholic college Maynooth went against Torys values
            • MPs believed Peel has his head turned because of Corn Laws and Parliament didn’t like resistance groups having an influence

      • Treated them with contempt
    • Why did Peel resign?
      • Corn Laws were the occasion not the cause for Peels fall of power, following his defeat of the coercion bill he resigned and lost confidence in his power.
