- Babies- sleep for 15 hours a day with 50% REM sleep
- 5 year olds- brain activity during sleep resembles adults, although frequency is different. REM is about 30%.
- Adolescents- less REM sleep than children. Fewer hours asleep now. Nocturnal sexual orgasms can occur.
- Senescene- REM down to about 20% now. Stage 2 increasing to 60%. Sleep disturbance is common.
