    • The Three Resolutions
      • The 2nd session of Charles' 1629 Parliament assembled on Jan 23rd
      • Without the influence of Buckingham, Parliament hoped that Charles would cooperate with Parliament more
      • The Commons, led by Pym & Eliot however began to complain about the growing influence of Arminianism
        • There were also complaints about the collection of T&P after the year was up. This was a violation of the Petition of Right
    • The Petition of Right was further aggravated by the imprisonment of John Rolle, an MP who refused to pay the levy
      • Charles regarded Parliament's criticisms as a personal attack to his authority, so he briefly adjourned the house
      • Parliament the ressembled on March 2nd 1629
    • The reassembled Parliament, led by Eliot issued a protestation, known as The Three Resolutions
      • The protestation encouraged merchants to refuse to pay T&P and denounced Arminianism
      • Those who paid T&P were branded enemies to the Kingdom
    • Due to the 'Three Resolutions' Charles angrily ordered John Finch (The Speaker) to adjourn Parliament once more
      • A royal proclamation was drawn up and Charles announced the dissolution of Parliament on 10th March 1629
        • This led to Charles 11 year personal rule
