- Keyboard - A collection of alphanumeric characters or just letters which are shown on keyboard.
- Keypad - a miniature keyboard or set of buttons for operating a portable electronic device, telephone, or other equipmen

- Pros - The rubber ball and mechanical sensors make it so can function on glossy surfaces and still track movement well. Also it's low cost.
- Cons - May not work on soft / uneven surfaces. Also track ability depends on the surface it moves on.

- The pointer speed of the mouse can be adjusted to make positioning easier.
- The speed of mouse clicks can be adjusted.
- The buttons on the mouse can be set for left or right handed use.
- The numeric key can be set to move the pointer I place of a mouse.
- A large trackball may make moving the pointer easier for a user with limited mobility.

- Optical mark recognition (OMR) is the process of capturing human-marked data from document forms such as surveys and tests.
- OCR
- Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is the recognition of printed or written text characters by a computer.
- MICR
- Magnetic Ink is mainly used in the banking industry.
- Magnetic Ink is used to verify the legitimacy or originality of paper documents.
- You need to consider the type of data for an input device so that it can be chose to meet the correct requirements.
- You also need to consider the costs of all the input devices and how much they can cost for everything required.
- Also the input device needs to be in a space that is suitable for it and so that it can function correctly which needs to be taken into consideration before any purchase.
- The user preferences need to be considered so that it can be checked to see if they can be edited to the user’s needs.
