    • What?
      • Alternating hot & cold
      • 30 secs to 2-3 mins hot bath followed by 1-2 mins iced water immersion
    • Why?
      • Reduces swelling AFTER initial inflammation
      • Mechanical effects of vasoconstriction/ vasodilation to enhance local circulation
        • Increase oxygen & nutrients
        • Removal of injury debris
        • Enhance phagocytosis
      • Ice last to encourage vasoconstriction
    • Routine
      • First 2 days- More cold than heat
      • Next 2 days- Equal hot and cold
      • Next 3 days- More hot than cold
