- User Interface
- It is the use of input devices and software.
- User Management
- The operating system organises user logins and passwords
- File Management
- It manages where on the disk files are written. It makes sure no file is corrupted/ overwritten. It keep track of where they are.
- Multitasking
- It is that instructions are taken in turns to execute but cant be done at the same time even though it does look like it.
- Peripheral Management
- It gets inputs and sends outputs. It copies files from the disk to the RAM. It copies data files back to secondary storage.
- An example of a peripheral device is a camera or phone.
- Memory Management
- To run a program, the computer must copy the program from the storage into the main memory. Data used by the program is copied to the main memory and it must not be overwritten.
- User Interface
