- Read through text carefully.
- Look for any specific words or phrases that stand out
- Try to grasp a vague idea of what the purpose and audience is.
- This will help you anlyse and understand the text better
- Once you start analysing try to decide on the authors tone. (Don't overthink this! Just go with what you think the author would sound like if he was sitting beside you.)
- If you are given a character analysis, be emphatic and put yourself in in character's shoes.
- Re read answers, under prsseure you sometimes make no sense.
- Read through text carefully.
