  • Circulation
    • The Heart
      • Made of cardiac muscle
      • Humans have a double circulatory system to separate oxygenated and deoxygenated blood
      • Left - deoxygenated Right - Oxygenated
        • LORD
      • Vein have valves to stop backflow of blood
      • Blood passes through TWICE during a full circuit of the body
    • Cardiac Cyle
      • Both left and right atriums contract at the same time
      • Blood goes from the atria to the ventricles (once they are opened)
        • When the ventricles are full, they contract, preventing backflow
          • Once the pressure is high enough, the blood is forced into the aorta or pulmonary arteries
            • The cycle repeats
    • Composition of the Blood
      • Haemoglobin
      • Red Blood Cells (45% vol)
      • Plasma (Yellow and 55% vol)
