- Some christians believe that when Adam&Eve disobeyed God this led to suffering and evil. God's plan involved sending Jesus to restore the relationship and restore humanity
- Some believe that it is a test from God. Some may reject Him, other mays grow closer and become strong & patient. The result of the test determines the afterlife
- Some believe that evil is not God's fault because humans have free will
- We can choose whether evil occurs. Suffering is a result of choice in our life
- Some think God has an ultimate plan for everyone and some involve suffering. God has the answer and we do not. We must trust in Him
- It allows us to follow Jesus' example. Jesus cannot help people if there is no suffering
