    • WELFARE MEASURES
      • To decrease support for socialists, Bismarck introduced various welfare measures, and to help assist German workers
      • The SICKNESS INSURANCE ACT
        • This provided MEDICAL TREATMENT
        • Provided up to 13 WEEKS' SICK PAY to 3 million LOW PAID WORKERS
      • The ACCIDENT INSURANCE ACT
        • Gave PROTECTION for permanently disabled people
      • The OLD AGE & DISABILITY ACT
        • This GAVE PENSIONS to people OVER 70
      • However, the working class did not BELIEVE THAT THIS WENT FAR ENOUGH
        • They wanted TRADE UNIONS
