- WELFARE MEASURES
- To decrease support for socialists, Bismarck introduced various welfare measures, and to help assist German workers
- The SICKNESS INSURANCE ACT
- This provided MEDICAL TREATMENT
- Provided up to 13 WEEKS' SICK PAY to 3 million LOW PAID WORKERS
- The ACCIDENT INSURANCE ACT
- Gave PROTECTION for permanently disabled people
- The OLD AGE & DISABILITY ACT
- This GAVE PENSIONS to people OVER 70
- However, the working class did not BELIEVE THAT THIS WENT FAR ENOUGH
- They wanted TRADE UNIONS
