- 1917 Immigration Act- All Immigrants had to pass an 'English Test'. Many Immigrants found a way to cheat.
- 1921 Immigrant Quota Act- Limited the Number of Immigrants to 357,000. Favoured Immigrants from Western Europe.
- 1924 Further Quota Act- Further Limited the number of Immigrants allowed into the Country. Only 2% of each "Immigrant Group"
- In 1929, the number of immigrants allowed into the country was limited to 150,000 with no immigrants from Asia allowed.
- Sacco and Vanzetti
- Two Italian Immigrants charged with the offences of theft and the murder of two security guards.
- Most evidence against them was not solid evidence, they had 107 witnesses who agreed with their alibi.
- Both sentenced to death, as the judge was prejudiced towards Italians.

- They had produced extra crops to sell in Europe (WW1) when the War ended they still had all the crops.
- Grain prices dropped dramatically because they were over producing goods.

- Those who went up north to work in factories found themselves working in the worst areas for low pay.
