    • Ethanol is made through fermentation
      • Glucose ---> ethanol + carbon dioxide
        • C6H12O6 ---> 2C2H5OH + 2CO2
      • Reaction is catalysed through yeast enzymes
      • Only happen if no oxygen is present
        • If air is present, ethanoic acid is created
    • General formula for an alcohol is CnH2n+1OH
    • Only ethanol is made through fermentation
      • Renewable fuel if got from plants-can be grown quickly
    • Non renewable from ethene-comes from fossil fuels
      • Ethene+water---> ethanol
        • C2H4+H2O ---> C2H5OH
