What is a longitudinal wave?
Waves where the vibrations are in the same direction as the wave motion
1 of 7
What is a transverse wave?
When the vibrations are at right angles to the wave motion
2 of 7
What is the difference between electromagnetic and mechanical waves?
Electromagnetic waves don't need a medium to travel through eg. light, mehcanical waves need a medium (particles)
3 of 7
What is amplitude?
Height of a wave
4 of 7
What is wavelength?
The length of one complete wave
5 of 7
What is the wave equation?
Wavespeed=frequency x wavelength
6 of 7
What is the equation for frequency?
Frequency=number of waves passed/time
