2. What happens when you breath out?

  • ntercostal muscles and diaphragm relax, thorax volume decreases and pressure increases forcing air out
  • Intercostal muscles and diaphragm contract, thorax volume increases and pressure decreases forcing air out

3. What is ventilation?

  • It is breathing in and out
  • It is breathing in only
  • It is breathing out only

4. What are new ventilators like?

  • They pump air into the lungs, expanding the ribcage and when the pumping stops, the ribcage relaxes pushing air out. It doesnt interfere with blood flow but could cause damage to the lungs if they cant cope with artificial air flow
  • They pump air out of the lungs and they dont have any side affects on the human body

5. What are ventilators?

  • Machines that move air into or out of lungs
  • Machines that dont move air into or out of lungs
