What is blood pressure?
The measure of the hydrostatic force of the blood against the walls of the blood vessel.

When is the pressure in the artery the highest?
Systolic pressure- It is highest during the phase of the cardiac cycle when the ventricles have contracted and forced blood into the arteries.

Diastolic pressure - The pressure is at its lowest in the artery when the ventricles are relaxed.

It is used to measure blood pressure.
