What cells replicate by binary fission?
Prokaryotic cells.
1 of 5
What happens to the cell in binary fission? BASIC EXPLANATION.
The cell splits into two.
2 of 5
What happens in the (stages of) binary fission?
The circular DNA and plasmids replicate. The cell gets bigger and thes copies move to opposite "poles" of the cell. The cytoplasm then starts to divide and new cell walls form. The cytoplasm then divides completely and two daughter cells are produced
3 of 5
What differences and similaralities do the two daughter cells have after binary fission?
They have one exact copy of the circular DNA, but can have a variable number of plasmids.
4 of 5
What conditions have to be in place for successful binary fission to take place?
Warm environment, Nutrients and if these aren't in place, the cells will syop dividing and eventually begin to die.
