Where is the laryngopharynx and what does it do?
Begins at the level of the hyoid bone. Opens into the oesophagus posteriorly and the larynx anteriorly.

Where is the larynx found and what does it do?
Permits the trachea to be joined to the pharynx. Pathway for respiration and digestion. Protects the lungs during swallowing. Clears secretions through coughing and produces sound. Made of 9 pieces of cartilage- thyroid, epiglottis, cricoid.
