People joined together by blood, marriage or adoption.

A group of people living together under the same roof. (not necessarily related)

A man and woman in a socially acceptable relationship with children.

A man or women living alone with children.

A couple living together that are not married.

When a couple with children from previous relationships marry.

A family headed by two people of the same sex with dependant children.

What is a civil partnership?
Legal recognition of a relationship between two people of the same sex, giving them the same rights as a married couple.

What is an empty nest family?
Children have grown up and left home, parent continue living together in the family home.
