Capulet allows Paris to woo Juliet. Learning Rosaline is a guest at the Capulet ball, Benvolio suggests they gate-crash it.

Romeo is worried about going to a ball cause of a dream he has. Mercutio say it was caused by Queen Mab, who comes to people in their sleep and causes strange fantasies.

Tybalt is angry Romeo went to ball and threatens revenge. Romeo meets Juliet and they fall in love, but both are later dismayed to learn they are from rival families.

Leaving the party, Romeo hides from his friends and refuses to come when Mercutio calls him.

Hiding in Capulet garden, Romeo sees Juliet at window and hears her declare for her love for him. Juliet asks Romeo to send a message the next day telling her when and where they can get married.

Romeo visits Friar Lawrence. he agrees to marry them as it may heal bitterness between families.

Benvolio tells Mercutio that Romeo has been sent a challenge to a duel by Tybalt, a dangerous fighter. Juliet's nurse arrives and Romeo asks her to tell JUliet to meet him that afternoon. when Friar will marry them.

Friar warns Romeo about danger of his sudden love for her, but agrees to marry the lovers in secret.

Tybalt looks for Romeo to get his revenge. Romeo refuses to fight him. Angry with Romeo, Mercutio challenges Tybalt himself and gets fatally wounded. To get revenge for dead Mercutio, Romeo kills Tybalt and flees. Prince banishes him from Verona.

When Nurse reports Romeo killed Tybalt, Juliet grieves for him, but is upset for Romeo's banishment. She asks Nurse to bring Romeo to her.

Friar unsuccessfully comforts Romeo, who is devastated at being banished. Nurse arrives to tell him Juliet wants to see him before he leaves.
