Tariffs
A tax to be paid on some particular imports and exports.

Basic monetary unit of Russia.

Industrialisation
Development of industries in Russia such as factory's which provided jobs and hope for the peasants.

Russification
A policy which pushes traditional Russian culture and wants to make everyone like that. Policy of Alexander III.

Mir
A small community which would vote for their own officials who controlled the area. Collected taxes, set out land, punishment decisions etc.

Kulaks
Used loans from peasant banks. These were peasants who could afford good land.

Solcha
Wooden plough. Widely used medieval crop rotation and field divisions were used.

Liberals
Wanted to reform the autocracy. Promote welfare and rule of law. Wanted change.

Okhrana- Secret Police
3rd Section. Uphold pillars of the community. Church, law etc. Used spies. Control riots etc.
