World rejecting movements cut themselves off from society
They are very critical of wider society and often in conflict with the state. They require total commitment and demand significant lifestyle changes. Members often turn away from family and friends ('brainwashing'). It is often hard to leave.

World affirming movements are tolerant of other beliefs
Similar to self-help and therapy groups, try to 'unblock' spiritual power. Seek wide membership. Don't require high levels of commitment.

World accomodating movements are traditionally religious
Often come from traditional religions.They try to rediscover spiritual purity. Allow people to carry on with their existing lifestyles.
