All societies have social norms, these are standards of acceptable behavior. To deviate from these would be to break the unwritten rules. They would be considered antisocial or undesirable, therefore abnormal

Defining a behavior as abnormal is pointless unless we also consider the culture of which it occurs. Different cultures see different things as acceptable, example being talking to the dead is normal in some cultures but in ours abnormal
