91 old people (65-90) (those not in this age group was removed as were non-communicative/bedbound patients)

What did the 2 groups consist of?
2 different floors of the home- 8 males and 36 females were in responsibility group (RIG) on 4th floor and 9 males and 35 females were in the CG on 2nd floor. (balanced in terms of health, class, time at home etc)

How happy and active the pps felt from 0-8

What did the questionnaire the day and night nurses have to fill out include?
Assessed the pps across 9 10 point scales including scales such as alertness, active participation and a sense of well-being.

An different announcement was given out to the pps depending on the group they were in and it was by the 33yr old boss

Emphasized responsibility for themselves-

Whether Thursday or Friday was movie night, told how to complain and giving them a responsibility of choosing and looking after a plant.
