Name and define Aristotle's four causes
Formal cause- the shape an object takes, Material cause- what an object is made from, Efficient cause- what an object is made by, Final cause- what an object is made for (purpose)

Absolute, universal truths, which influence objects in our world

What is the difference between a Form of a man and men in our world?
Men in our world are imperfect shadows of the Form of man, which is perfect

(The Form of:) Beauty, Love, Justice and Good

Why, according to Plato, are philosophers and thinkers more able to know truth?
Because they are less restricted by their senses, they use their minds more effectively and are able to understand the Form of the Good because of this- bringing them closer to goodness and truth.

It escapes from the body, and returns to the World of Forms

What was the main difference between Plato and Aritotle's way of thinking?
While Plato was a dualist; believing in a second, spiritual world, Aristotle was a materialist; focusing upon the world around us

Explain the concept of Aristotle's Prime Mover
Not the GCT, simply a first mover/ cause. It is a necessary being, on a seperate plane of existence to humanity, it can only know itself. It cannot know its creation
