Wagons over-turning, Camp fever, Buffalo Stampede, measels, food supply low, storms- diffcult terrain, extreme weather, isolation (no doctors), river crossings and wild animals.

Some could argue The Oregon Trail also helped to spread religion and culture across the country. In other words, when the pioneers traveled, they took their beliefs with them (Impact on the US), swollen rivers- death.

Believed in polygamy (act of having more than one wife) meant their population would increase which people feared.

In 1844 Henry and Naomi Sagar and six children decided to travel west however they faced probelms such as: child birth, wagon over-turning and campfever.

1846 the Donner family decided to take a supposed short cut called Hastings Cut-Off instead of the main route however they ended up trapped by snow.
