Where is the enzyme Rubisco found?
Stroma of chloroplast
1 of 5
Which compound combines with carbon dioxide in a chloroplast?
RuBP - Ribulose Bisphosphate
2 of 5
In the light-independent reaction, the carbon in CO2 becomes carbon in triose phosphate. Explain how.
CO2 combines with RuBP to form GP (glycerate-3-phosphate). This is reduced to form triose phosphate as the GP is broken up. This requires reduced NADP and energy from ATP in the light-independent reaction.
3 of 5
Why is CO2 uptake is a measure of net productivity?
NP = GP - R
4 of 5
How does light energy generate ATP?
Light energy excites electrons (e-) out of chlorophyll. E- are then passed down an electron transport chain. Protons (H+) are transported across the membrane.
