Homosexuality - What do Anglicans think?
Anglican clergy should not be practising homosexuals, but left to conscience.

Roman Catholics?
There should be no discrimination against those with homosexual tendencies; they should be treated with respect, compassion and sensitivity. However, it is wrong for two men/women to have sex, as this is against God's plan for the human race.

Methodists?
They accept it completely. They have the 1933 Resolution, which allows (and even celebrates) the participation of lesbians and gay men in the Church.

What does the Bible say?
'No man is to have sexual relationships with another man' (Leviticus 18:22)

Heterosexual relationships - Adultery?
A relationship where at least one of the two people is married to someone else.

Christian teachings about sex?
Roman Catholics - to bring up children, Anglicans, etc. - to show love and compassion.

Adultery?
It's wrong; against the 10 Commandments, breaks marriage vows, loss of trust within relationship

Premarital sex?
Social changes, e.g. delay in marriage age, make it unrealistic to wait until marriage; contraception means that sex can be enjoyed responsibly before marriage; fine if shows love and compassion.

Contraception - Roman Catholics think that...
...contraception is sinful; main purpose of sex is to make children; could be considered murder as prevents potential life; better natural methods, e.g. tracking menstrual cycle

Protestants think that...
...contraception is acceptable. God have humans the ability to make decisions; having children is not the primary reason for sex; good reasons for not wanting children, e.g. HIV, poverty, etc.

Drugs - What is a drug?
A natural/artificial substance that has physical and/or mental effects when taken.

Alcohol - What do the Salvation Army say?
They don't like it; it shows disrespect to one's body, which is given by God; concerned about suffering, etc. caused by it; they give practical help to those with drink problems and their families.

What are Christian attitudes to illegal drugs?
Goes against principles of both sanctity and quality of life; some Christians would say cannabis is okay for certain medical conditions; some are involved in helping drug addicts - because Jesus helped people who needed him.
