The Public Accounts Committee
very independent body - Looks at the government expenditure and taxation, examining eficenct and effecivness in government spending and tax collection

Examine proposed legislation, suggesting amendments which might improve legislation.

temporary committees - Amendments to legislation are debated and voted for by these committees. The governing party is always granted a majority on committees and party loyalty is expected to apply in committees.
