What is the kinetic particle theory?
The kinetic particle theory explains the properties of the different states of matter.
1 of 5
Why can't solids move?
They have a fixed shape and the particles can't move. They can only vibrate on the spot.
2 of 5
Why are liquids able to move?
The particles can move around each other.
3 of 5
What happens to the line on a change of state graph when the particles are changing state?
The line is horizontal.
4 of 5
Why is the line like this?
The temperature doesn't increase because the energy being put into the reaction stops heating up the bonds and instead focuses on breaking the bonds so during this time the temp doesn't increase.
