Supporting framework made up of fibrous tissue, ovarian blood vessls, lymphatics and nerves, hilum is where vessels enter, lies where the ovary is attached to broad ligament

Functional part of the ovaries, contains ovarian folicles, surrounded by stroma, outer layer fibrous tissue tunica albuginea, over germinal epithelium
