Sensory Neurones
The nerve cells that carry signals as electrical impulses from the receptors in the sense organs to the CNS
1 of 9
Relay Neurones
The nerve cells that carry signals from sensory neurones to motor neurones.
2 of 9
Motor Neurones
The nerve cells that carry signals from the CNS to the effector muscles/glands
3 of 9
1) Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH)
Secreted by the pituitary gland and causes eggs to mature in the ovaries. It also stimulates the ovaries to produce hormones including oestrogen
4 of 9
3) Luteinising Hormone (LH)
Stimulates the release of eggs from the ovary
5 of 9
2) Oestrogen
Secreted by the ovaries and inhibits the further production of FSH.
6 of 9
Stimulus
Change in your environment
7 of 9
Central Nervous System (CNS)
Where all information from the sense organs is sent and where reflexes and actions are coordinated, consists of brain and spinal chord only,
8 of 9
Receptors
Group of cells which are sensitive to a stimulus
