The nervous system consists of two main parts: the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system

what is the central nervous system ?
The central nervous system is made up of the brain and spinal cord.

what is the peripheral nervous system ?
The peripheral nervous system is made up of the nerve fibers that branch off from the spinal cord and extend to all parts of the body, including the neck and arms, torso, legs, skeletal muscles and internal organs.

what is the main cell working ?
The basic working unit of the nervous system is a cell called a neuron.

what does the main cell contain ?
A neuron consists of a cell body containing the nucleus, and special extensions called axons (pronounced AK-sonz) and dendrites (pronounced DEN-drahytz).
