Head melody is simple and characterised by rising 6ths. This is followed by 4 improvised solos. Trumpet solo-lasts 4 choruses, mostly made up of short, syncopated motifs. Alto solo- lasts 4 choruses, uses quicker notes and a wider range.

Based on 12-bar blues sequence. 1-4 (G7) 5-6 (Gm7) 7-8 (G7) 9 (D7) 10 (E flat 7/ D 7) 11 (F/G), and 12 (F/ G 6). u can think of it as being in G major but with a flattened 7th (blue note). Therefore, its modal jazz.
