What is the short-term memory?
Memory for immediate events. Information in the STM disappears unless they are rehearsed and have a limited capacity. The STM is also referred to as 'the working memory' and is coded accoustically.

What is the Long-term memory?
Memory for events which happened in the past. The LTM has an unlimited duration and is coded semantically.
