Light, Infrared, Microwaves and Radio Waves

?
What detects visible light?
Visible light is the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that is detected by our eyes.
1 of 6
What is the relation between wavelength and the colours of the electromagnetic spectrum?
The wavelength increases across the spectrum from violet to red. We see a mixture of all the colours as white light.
2 of 6
What is visible light used for?
Visible light is used in photography
3 of 6
What is infrared radiation?
Infrared Radiation is given out by all objects. The hotter the object, the more IR emitted. Used for devices such as TVs and CD players.
4 of 6
What are microwaves?
Microwaves are used in communications. Microwaves transmitters produce wavelengths able to pass through the atmosphere. Used to send signals to satellites and within mobile phone networks.
