Step 1 of a claim.
Completing a claims form which requires basic details and brief details of the claimant and the vaule of the claim. A second page will then be sent out which goes into the specifcs of the claim.

Step 2 of a claim.
The def will then be confirmed to be correct and they will get a copy of the inital claim form. They will also get a defence pack and they must fill it in and send it back within 14 days. If they fail to do so, the claimant can win the case.

Step 3 of a claim.
The courts will send an allocation questionnaire out and then it will be decided which track the case goes on to. There is an allocation fee. The case will be monitered and a date/time will be allocated for the trial.

Step 4 of a claim.
Once a date has been set, a 21 day waiting time will usually occur between allocation and a date. During this time it will be down to the judge to try to persuade the case to admit to damage(s) or try an ADR first.
