Jekyll and Hyde chapters

Not detailed, I would recommend reading the book first to get to know the characters and storyline properly. This is just to summarise. J = Jekyll, U =Utterson, L =Lanyon, H = Hyde

Story of the Door
Mr Utterson and Mr Enfield go on a walk when they stop at a door. Enfield tells U about a story relating to the door where Mr Hyde tramples a girl and is forced to pay £100 compensation to her family. He uses a cheque with the name of a respected Gentlema

Dr Jekyll was Quite at Ease
U talks to J about H, but J assures him that he is fine, and he can be rid of H whenever he wants. J also asks that H be taken care of if he ever goes missing.

Chapter 4
The Carew Murder Case
H murders Carew late one night, and on the body is found a letter addressed to U. U leads the police to H's home, to discover that he is out, but he has left the house a mess, burning J's cheque book and leaving behind the broken cane (the murder weapon).

Incident of the Letter
U visits J to ask about H, but J says he'll never hear from H again. J gives U a letter from H that says H is running away. J asks him to give it to the police. Mr Guest reads the letter and says that H and J have the same handwriting, just slanted in opp

Incident of Dr Lanyon
J becomes social for a few months, before shutting out everyone completely. U visits L to see he looks older and ill, L says he has had a shock, and may never recover. When asked about J, L says J is dead to him. U writes a letter to J to ask about the fa

Incident at the Window
U and Enfield see J through a window. J looks ill. They talk through the window for a short time when J looks shocked, and quickly shuts the window, disappearing from view.

The Last Night
Poole visits U to say that he is worried something has happened to J. They go to J's house, but J still refuses to see him. Poole thinks J has been murdered and the murderer is living as him. They break down the lab door to find H has poisoned himself sec

L receives a letter from J asking him to go to his lab and retrieve some powders and papers, then to wait at his home for someone to collect them. H arrives to collect them and creates a potion from the salts, and askes L if he wants to see what will happ
