What is the role of a protocol?
A protocol is a set of rules that allow different computers to communicate through a network.
1 of 20
Two protocols that work across the internet?
IP. TCP.
2 of 20
What does IP and TCP stand for?
Internet Protocol. Transmission Control Protocol.

What does URL stand for?
Uniform Resource Locator.

What does HTTP stand for?
Hypertext Transfer Protocol.

What does FTP stand for?
File Transfer Protocol

What are search engines looking for?
New or updated content on web pages.
7 of 20
Name two advantages of client side processing.
Faster speeds, Better security.
8 of 20
Explain why you will have faster speeds in client side processing.
This is because all the code is downloaded to your computer and there wont have to be information being passed from the server to your computer.
9 of 20
Explain why it is better security in client side processing.
This is because there will be less information being transferred over the network, so there will be less chances for a hacker to steal the information.
10 of 20
Name two disadvantages of client side processing.
Browser specific, speed.
11 of 20
Explain why client side processing is browser specific.
This is because the browsers read the scripts of the website in different ways which means that you might have to make different versions of your website for different browsers.
12 of 20
Explain why speed is effected by client side processing.
If your computer is slow and has bad processing speed then it could run slowly.
13 of 20
Name three advantages of server side processing.
Efficiency, Browser independent, speed.
14 of 20
Explain why server side processing is more efficient.
More complex code will be more efficient as it does not have to be downloaded and run on the users computer.
15 of 20
Explain why server side processing is browser independent.
This is because the code is run on the server so the browser won't have to read the script.
16 of 20
Explain why server side processing can be faster.
The speed can be faster because with larger code it will be running off a fast server instead of a potentially slow computer.
17 of 20
Name two disadvantages of server side processing.
Security, overloading.
18 of 20
Explain why security can be an issue with server side processing.
This is because there is lots of data being transferred over a network which means that hackers can steal information easier.
19 of 20
Explain why overloading can be an issue with server side processing.
This is because the server is dealing with lots of people at the same time so will need to cope with large volumes of data at the same time.
