What is biodiversity?
A measure of the variety of different species living in a habitat. The more different species there are, the higher the biodiversity.

What is a quadrat?
A quadrat is usually a square made out of wire, sometimes with smaller wire squares inside it.

What is a quadrat used for?
It is used to count all the different organisms in a population. The organisms under the smaller wire squares can be counted and identified.

When using a quadrat, what should you make sure you do?
Place it randomly, so a representative sample is taken.
