What does FSH do?
FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) triggers the maturing of the eggs in the ovaries. FSH is secreted by the pituitary gland.

What does Oestrogen do?
Oestrogen inhibits the production of FSH and triggers the release of LH. Oestrogen is released from directly from the ovaries. Oestrogen also prepares the womb for pregnancy.

LH (leutinising hormone) triggers the release of a mature egg from the ovaries. It is produced by the pituitary gland and is triggered by oestrogen.
