What are the different life stages?
infancy= birth-2 years, early childhood= 3- 8 years, adolsecence= 9-18 years, Early adulthood= 19-45 years, middle adulthood= 46-65 years, later adulthood=65+years

What is growth?
Growth is an increase in physical size. It is determined by measuring height, weight and also head circumference in small babies.

What is development?
Development is an increase in complexity. It is concerned with gaining new skills and abilities such as riding a bike. It is a continuous process from conception through to maturity.

What is nature?
All characteristics of a person are INHERITED from his or her parents (genes).

What is nurture?
Characteristics are decided by the way in which the child is brought up. Certain types of behaviour and attitudes are learnt from parents. The influence of external factors after conception such as social and environmental factors.

a genetically programmed sequence of change, for example the onset of the menopause.
