Collective noun
A noun that refers to groups of people, animals or things, e.g. "crowd, family, flock, committee, group".

Forms of "be", "have" and "do" - auxiliary verbs that can also occur as main verbs.

Preposition
A word that defines the relationship between words in terms of time, space, or direction, e.g. "during", "towards", "with", "until".

Reflexive pronoun
Used as a direct object when the object is the same as the subject of the verb, e.g. "I (subject) am teaching myself (direct object) to play the piano."

Demonstrative pronoun
Words that refer to specific objects that only those involved in the discourse can see - a pronoun if this word is after the noun, e.g. "let me pick the sweets, I want these ones".

Indefinite pronoun
A pronoun that refers to an unspecified or unidentified person or thing - it doesn't have an antecedent. E.g. "someone left their water bottle."

Antecedent
The noun or noun phrase that a pronoun refers to.

Relative pronoun
A pronoun that introduces an adjective clause. "which", "that" "who", "whom" and "whose".

Interrogative pronoun
A pronoun that introduces a question. It has no antecedent - what they refer to is precisely what the question aims to find out. E.g. "when a man tells you that he got rich through hard work, ask him: whose?"

Interrogative adjective
Interrogatives that modify another term, especially a noun. "Which" or "what", e.g. "what program are you watching?"
