What is a spit?
A spit is a curved beach which extends into the sea at river mouth or where there is a break.

When could a spit develop?
When the coastline changes direction and longshore drift continues a spit may develop.

When will happen as a spit grows?
As a spit grows, it will develop a hooked end if the wind sometimes blows from the other direction.
