What is the greenhouse effect?
When the UV rays enter the earth's atmosphere and get trapped in the earth's atmoshphere because the blanket made around the earth by greenhouse gasses is too thick for the rays to escape. So infa red rays get trapped in the earths atmosphere creating a

Whats bio-diversity?
Biodiversity is all the different kinds of life you'll find in one area.

what's a conservationist?
a person who protects and preservation of the environment and wildlife.

What is Finite?
Somthing that has an end
5 of 26
What is climate change?
Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns.
6 of 26
What is a carbon footprint?
A measure of the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere as a result of the activities of a particular individual, organization, or community.

What are the 5 main enviromental concerns produced by humans?
- deforestation
- pollution (plastic, air)
- over fishing
- burning fossil fules

- burning fossil fules
-climate change
8 of 26
what are humans doing to cause deforestation?
They are cutting down trees to make more space for farming land. And they also cut down trees to produce objects e.g tables, paper, chairs etc
9 of 26
what are humans doing to cause pollution?
We are littering, and therefore making plastic pollution. We are using our cars and vehicles therefore emitting greenhouse gasses which is air pollution.
10 of 26
what are humans doing to cause over-fishing?
While there are many causes of overfishing, increasing human demand, poor management of fisheries, and lack of protective regulations are the biggest drivers.
11 of 26
what are humans doing to cause burning fossil fuels?
The more we use cars, and trucks the more fossil fuels we burn. And the more factories, and mass manufacturing that happens also releases fossil fuels.

what are the human factors for endangered species?
-deforestation
-habitat loss
-poaching
-climate change
-pet trade

What does renewable energy mean?
energy from a source that is not depleted when used, such as wind or solar power.
15 of 26
What is non-renewable energy?
Sources that will run out or will not be replenished in our lifetimes—or even in many, many lifetimes.

What is the biggest human contributor to climate change?
Fossil fuels

What is the enhanced
greenhouse effect?
greenhouse effect?
It's when we pollute the earth's atmosphere by using things like cars and factories. For example a car's exhaust pipe lets out fumes, and they go up into the earth's atmosphere creating a blanket around the atmosphere. It traps the inferred rays inside th

What will happen if our coral reefs die?
the destruction of marine ecosystems and even the extinction of some fish
24 of 26
How are we killing the coral reefs?
Physical damage or destruction from coastal development, quarrying, destructive fishing practices and gear, boat anchors and groundings, and touching or removing coral.
25 of 26
Why are coral reefs so important?
protect coastlines from storms and erosion, provide jobs for local communities, and offer opportunities for recreation.
