Forces

?
What is Newton's first law?
If the forces on an object are balanced, the object will continue to do what it was already doing.
1 of 10
What is Newton's second law?
If the forces on an object are unbalanced, two things can change; the speed can either increase or decrease and/or the direction of movement can change.
2 of 10
What is Newton's third law?
For every action force, there is an equal and opposite reaction force.
3 of 10
What is SUVAT and what do each of the letters represent?
SUVAT are the equations for working out motion and they each represent; S-Speed, U-Initial velocity, V-Final velocity, A-Acceleration, T-Time.
4 of 10
What is the force of gravity?
10N/kg.
5 of 10
What is the difference between mass and weight?
Mass is how much matter we are made up of which is measured in Kilograms (kg) and weight is the force of gravity acting upon your mass which is measured in Newtons (N).
6 of 10
What is the limit of proportiality?
When something is stretched over its elastic limit and will no longer go back to its original shape.
7 of 10
What is GPE and EPE?
GPE- Gravitational Potential Energy, EPE- Elastic Potential Energy.
8 of 10
What are the equations for work done and power?
Work done=Force x Distace (Joules) , Power=Work done/Time taken (Watts).
9 of 10
What are the units for acceleration?
m/s squared.
